The Law and Responsible Dog Ownership
1. Leash laws prohibit dogs from being loose while
off their owner's property. If your off lead dog chases down a jogger or
cyclist, causes an accident by running into the road, attacks another
dog, etc. the fine could be as high as $200,000, on top of which you
will be required to pay compensation for damage or injury
2. Stoop and scoop the poop, even if there was no law
to enforce this, courtesy and common sense should impel you to clean up
after your dog.
3. Train your dog in basic obedience so that he is
under control at all times.
4. Consult your veterinarian about spaying and
neutering and provide regular veterinary care for you dog.

neighborhood.

water at all times.
7. Keep your dog clean and regularly groomed
8. Exercise your dog at least 30 minutes a day. Brisk
walks,, jogging and ball playing are enjoyed by most dogs
9. Provide your dog with the chance to socialize with
people and other dogs. Do not leave him cooped up in your house or yard.
10. Love, admire and respect your dog. Your dog is
beautiful and an intelligent member of the canine species. Be patient
with him if you run into problems, don't hurt him, abandon him or get
rid of him. Get help before you give up on him.
